Local Trails in Bothell

Bothell is a hub for some of the best regional trails in the North Sound. Whether you want a paved ride into Seattle or a quiet forest hike, these are my top picks.

🌲 Local Note: Riverfront and Regional Connections

Bothell is unique because two major regional trails meet here: the Burke-Gilman and the Sammamish River Trail. If you are looking for views, head toward Bothell Landing; for a workout, the Tolt Pipeline "hill climb" is the local favorite.

Sammamish River Trail

A 10-mile paved trail that runs along the river from Bothell to Marymoor Park. Perfect for cycling, running, and river views.

Burke-Gilman Trail

The legendary 27-mile path that connects Bothell to Seattle. It starts near Blyth Park and is a staple for commuters and weekend adventurers.

Shelton View Forest

A hidden gem for nature lovers. Wooded, unpaved trails perfect for peaceful dog walks and bird watching tucked away in a residential area.

North Creek Trail

A mix of paved paths and boardwalks that tie UW Bothell to Thrasher’s Corner. Great for scenic walks through local wetlands.

Tolt Pipeline Trail

For those looking for a challenge. This unpaved utility trail offers a steep "heart-rate" climb and wide-open views for mountain bikers and hikers.
